Not being practicing Catholics when it came time to get married we were looking for something that would replace the traditional church ceremony, but not lack in beauty and spirituality. We found Katherine through our wedding planner and completely fell in love with everything she had to offer. We had the most beautiful ceremony that really talked about our love for each other and brought in so many beautiful elements of religions and traditions. We burned sage, called upon the directions, and included our wedding party with the four elements (earth, water, air, and fire). The words Katherine read about us to each other made each of us cry. The beautiful words she offered us made our families cry. I can’t tell you how many people came up to us and told us it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever witnessed. We thank Katherine for being there and for making our wedding ceremony the best part of our wedding, not saying the party wasn’t awesome afterwards, but the most important part of getting married turned out to be not only our most favorite and memorable part, but our guest as well.

When Charles and I met Katherine Silvan, we knew we had found a skillful and talented preacher and an extraordinary woman. Katherine took to the time to get to know both of us and help us identify (and in some cases discover) what was important for us to honor and acknowledge during the ceremony that accompanied our sacred union. Charles and I had a wedding ceremony filled with a powerful joy because of Katherine’s ability to gather our love for each other (and the friends and community we have built) and speak to its truth, strength and beauty. The kindness, good humor and exultation of spirit that Katherine brought to our wedding day are gifts for which we will forever be grateful.

Katherine came into our lives at the perfect time. My husband and I faced the challenge of planning an interfaith ceremony with two officiants which proved to be very challenging. Katherine was extremely accommodating and patient with us throughout this process, as we were uncertain how to proceed with these arrangements. She worked with us every step of the way to make sure every aspect of the ceremony was exactly how we wanted it while respecting both religions and offering spiritual guidance along the way. She put in extra time to advise and support us during this planning time. She really got to know my husband and I, and she was able to personalize the ceremony making it very special and genuine. Her wise words will continue to live on with us throughout our lives, and we are both so grateful we had and continue to have the opportunity to work with her. 

Katherine has been a huge part of some of the most significant events in our lives. She married my husband and I in the Fall of 2010. It was a beautiful, spiritual and very awesome wedding. Katherine has the ability to perform such a heart-felt ceremony and most importantly one that perfectly reflected Chris and I in every way! We were also lucky enough to have our children, Sawyer & Isabelle honored& blessed in two very unique Baby Blessing's. Her gift for ceremony, ritual and connecting people together is really awesome!

Katherine Silvan, presided over our wedding ceremony in October of 2003.  She brought grace and spirituality to the occasion as well as friendship, understanding, and unswerving support.  Katherine helped us create a magical and unforgettable ceremony... she also kept us calm and centered when things got emotional or hectic as the wedding day approached.  She was a joy to work with as she listens with her whole being and gives of her whole heart.  Our wedding would not have been the amazing and unique event that it was if it were not for Katherine's guidance, love, and grounded presence.   I highly recommend Katherine Silvan as your Minister.
